Cover of Tuck Puts the Night-Light to Bed: a hedgehog in blue pajamas hugs a smiling moon-shaped night-light in a bed floating on clouds.

Why kids ask for it again

Tuck is scared of the dark, so he decides the night-light should go to sleep first. That turns out to be harder than it sounds. Moonie wants a sip of water. Then one more story. Then one more hug.

Little readers get to be the grown-up for once, and see that bedtime is hard for everyone, even night-lights. By the last page, the room is dark, and it is still the same cozy room.

"Bedtime can feel hard. We'll do it together."A gentle refrain that comes back through the story, made for reading out loud together.
